The Canberra Times newspaper has been running a ‘History Page’ in its Saturday edition for some time.
I have contributed articles which were published in October and November 2021, and so far, this year, one on 29 January 2022. More are to come as I have found the people and times associated with this site, which operated as a schoolhouse from May 1880 until December 1939, provide rich and varied material to share.
Edited by journalist Sally Pryor to fit the assigned space in the newspaper, the articles, generally supported by one of my photographs, have been well received by the public. Not everyone has access to the Canberra Times so I have decided to add the unedited versions to this website to showcase the remarkable stories associated with the Tuggeranong Schoolhouse site.
